INSPIRATION

Opposites attract and this season the WHIITE collection is all about contrasts and contradictions.

The ballerina represents the romantic universe that WHIITE embodies in AW2010. The way the garments move on her soft, feminine form as well as the long, lean silhouette of the tailored pieces in the collection.

By contrast, WHIITE has also found inspiration from the world of the rock chic! Rough surfaces, strong expressions and deconstruction are all represented in accessories, t-shirts with bold writing, vibrant jumpsuits and mini dresses with graffiti-inspired silk prints.

The collection is completed with a nod to nature. The stillness of a misty morning and a stable full of horses set the scene. WHIITE is inspired by all that this beautiful animal embodies: the image, the accessories and the details in the equipment such as the bridles and saddles.

Horses are printed onto over-sized, draped silk dresses and on t-shirts but there are hints of the equestrian world throughout the collection, in the checked, fitted suit jackets, classic white shirts and suede pants.

WHIITE always plays on the balance between femininity and masculinity and this season is no exception. AW2010 sees a range of suits, inspired by traditional men’s tailoring and in order to create a strong, yet feminine boyfriend look, the blazers are over-sized and the shoulders are more exaggerated.

Colours
WHIITE’s main colour palette is focused on darker tones like black, grey and brown with bright orange contrasts. Subtle powdery colours and nudes are taken from the world of the ballerina, as well as urban mud, concrete and smoky lavender.
